Creating New Site Themes

Creating New Site Themes

Since the release of XLEcom Version 5.1, only 4 images are needed to create a site theme. They are the top, bottom, left, and right side frame image. The rest of the items which look like images such as the Product Navigation Menus and Content Container Boxes are automatically created by the program using only HTML code.

There were 3 reasons for creating site themes using only 4 images:

  • First, was to make it simple for XLEcom users to create new site themes from scratch. All one has to do is create 4 new frame images, that's it !
  • Give the program user complete control over modifying both the color and dimension properties of the all items contained within the website. This allows the user to essentially create 1000's of different themes and color combinations.
  • Published websites can dynamical resize to the visitor's web browser window while retaining it's original look.

See the illustrations below for a visual explanation.

Site Theme Design
XLEcom
includes 55 site themes. The site theme utilized in the home page illustration below is called "3D Machine Green".

Site Theme Images
An XLEcom website theme is composed of only 4 images. They are the top, bottom, left and right side frame images as shown below.

The Balance of a Site Theme is composed of Simulated Graphics.
Everything
shown in the illustration below except for the 4 outer frame images were created by the program using only HTML code. No additional images were used. This would include such items as the Product Navigation Menus and Content Container Boxes.

The shaded area headers with the angled corners are called "Decoration Headers". Theses Decoration Headers are simulated graphic items made up of pure HTML code. As an added benefit, the Decoration Headers will automatically resize to the visitor's web browser window. You can see how these Decoration Headers were created by viewing the following page: Design of the Top Decoration Header
