Problems getting XLEcom to work properly in Excel 2007 on Windows Vista 64 and XP

Problems getting XLEcom to work properly... 2 main issues. One is due to Vista 64 but it won't work right for me on XP either.

Hi when I run it on Vista 64 and Excel 2007 there are numerous problems... in fact it is totally not useable because the directories do not work (even if I change the links to Program Files (x64)...)

Also on Vista many of the buttons and some of the text are invisible.

So I tried it on an XP machine also running Excel 2007. The directory problem was fixed... b ut bottons were still invisible in many cases and in fact entire chunks of dialogue boxes (text, graphics etc) were completely missing... if i clicked on blank space the would activate it it was over the right spot but yeah... not useable.

I am very keen to get this product work for me. Please help!

Thanks,

Eric

RE: Problems with XLEcom in Excel 2007 on Windows Vista 64 & XP

If you read the System Requirements, you will see that XLEcom may not be compatable with Excel 2007. XLEcom was developed before Excel 2007 was released. Microsoft made too many changes to Excel 2007 including changes to it's macro functionality.

Microsoft Excel System Requirements (* English version)

A full installation of Microsoft® Excel 2000, 2002 (XP), or 2003

I would recommend installing an older version of Excel onto your computer while keeping Excel 2007 so you can run the XLEcom program.

Personally, I keep a copy of Excel 95, 2000, 2002, and 2003 installed for exactly this reason. My favorite version is Excel 2000.

As Microsoft releases new versions of Excel, they usually keep crippling it by removing programming features due to the fear of people writing viruses. Read the following page for an example: Office 2003 Service Pack 3 (SP3).
