Is it possible to edit category pages?

HI,

I would like to know if it's possible to change the name of category pages.
The names showing in sample sites and categories are: page01.html, page02.html, page03.html, etc......

If I had a school supplies site, I would want to change those page names to:
school-backpacks.html, school-uniforms.html, notebooks.html, textbooks.html, etc...

Please let me know if this can be done... Thanks! ;)

RE: Is it possible to edit category pages?

I think what you are really asking is:

Does the program support changing the names of the published Product Ad pages i.e. page001.html, page002.html, page003.html, etc…?

Simple Answer: No

Why:
XLEcom is a software package offered to the general public. Therefore the program has to function well for a variety of different users and situations.

In order to insure that all published website navigation links function properly 100% of the time, the page name scheme for the Product Ads had to be hard coded into the program. Currently the all Product Ad page names are published in a sequential number format i.e. page001.html, page002.html, page003.html, etc…

You can however change the names of Support pages (top navigation menu items) and file extension for all files i.e. html, htm, etc… within the XLEcom program.

To change the both the page names and corresponding links to the Product Ad pages, you must do it manually, or better yet use a third party web authoring program to change them for you.

If you want to do it manually, I would recommend you publish a "framed" website. This way you can manually change the names of all the Product Ad pages and only have to edit the navigation links within the "left.html" file.

Otherwise, an alternative approach would be to use a third party web authoring program. This would provide the best alternative because these types programs are designed to make sure your links are error free. As an added benefit, you can also enhance the look and feel of the site.

I will consider making the names of the Product Ad pages a user option in future releases.
