RE: New files not recognized in my browser

Hi Sam,

I have cleaned casch many times - cold started my computer and tried at least three FTP programs, including FileZilla - all to no avail.

I have downloaded Version 6.2 to another computer and am ready to start some test-runs with the new software. So, please do send a registration number for it.

One question, however: When you issue a registration number for this software will it make my other version stop running? If so I will have to defer registering the new software, since it is the only thing currently working on my site.

If registering the new software will not impact my current licensed software then yes, lets register it.

Thanks for all of your assistance - Frank (FrancisJ)

RE: FTP Problem and Registration Code

Francis:

FTP Problem:
It may be a username / password issue for your website not allowing FTP transfers. You may want to check with your web hosting company to see if that's the problem. Also, check to make sure you did not run out of allotted webserver space.

Registration Code:
The new Registration Code and XLEcom Professional Version 6.2 will not affect you current XLEcom program. It is a stand alone program.

I will email the XLEcom Professional Version 6.2 Registration Code to your email address associated with your XLEcom.com website account. Please reply back via email so that I know you received it.

Registration Code Not Received

Hi Sam,

Not sure if you sent a registration code for the software - however, I have not received one as of this date.

Also, I have had to update my MS Office to MS Office 10 - When I open the XLEcom software I will open it as an EXCEL 2007 file and save it as such.

Thanks for your assistance,
Frank

RE: Registration Code Not Received

FrancisJ:

I email you the Registration Code on November 30, 2014 to the francisj at circlewleather.com address.

I also sent it again today December 8, 2014.

If you want it to work properly I would recommend using Excel 2000, 2002, or 2003. You should be able to have multiple versions of Excel on your computer, like I do.

Registration Code Still Not Received

Hi Sam,

I don't know why - However, I have just checked and updated my XLEcom Profile - Checked all of my email filters that may block email from XLEcom, which there were none. And created a filter to accept any message containing XLEcom.

Would you try sending the registration code one more time and send it to both of the email addresses listed in my profile jake at circlewleather.com and francisj at circlewleather.com

I am perplexed with the email problem.

Thanks,
Frank Wood

XLECOM - Site Question

Hi,

I too have developed a website with XLECOM and it works well. However, I am trying to update my items and prices and keep receiving a Runtime 405 Error - Can you assist>

FrancisJ

RE: XLECOM - Site Question

Francis

A Runtime 405 Error can apply to Windows, Visual Basic, C, etc... It's too general for me to know what is happening.

See the following page and answer the questions below about your system.
http://xlecom.com/?q=node/15

  • Your Operating System - i.e. Microsoft® Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista, or any 2003 Server version
  • Country Version of Microsoft Excel: (Tested in USA or UK versions of Excel only)
  • Software Version of Microsoft Excel  - i.e. Microsoft® Excel 2000, 2002 (XP), or 2003
  • XLEcom version number: The version number can be found in two places on the "Product Design" sheet. (1) In the bottom right corner and (2) by pressing the About button.

Reply about Runtime 405 ERROR

Hi Sam,

Thanks for your reply. To resolve the 405 error I took an old computer out and loaded Windows P Pro Version .427 2003-20075.12600 SERVICE PACK 3 BUILD 2600 Service Pack 3

MS EXCEL 2003 (11.6560.65680 sp2

XLECOM VERSION 4.3.427 2003-2007

After Publishing the XLECOM software with this new setup I no longer receive any errors. However, when I FTP the new files to my website they are not recognized in my browser. My new Home Page is recognized but none of my other files.

I have made the changes in my XLECOM database and when I publish the site locally all of the changes are made - however, when upload the files the new files are not found.

I have checked the permissions of all directories and files and they are all correct.

Not sure where the problem exists.

Hopefully you are able to assist.

Thanks,
Frank Wood

RE: New files not recognized in my browser

FrancisJ:

It is most likely the old files are cached on your computer via your web browser. Try clearing your browser's cache and then visit your new updated site.

If that is not a problem, try using a third paryy FTP program to upload the new files. A great free FTP program is called "FileZilla".

I also noticed from your website circlewleather.com that you are still using a very old version of XLEcom (XLEcom 4.3).

Since you happen to be one of the longest users of XLEcom and if you would like to upgrade to the latest version XLEcom Professional Version 6.2 for Free, then send me an email and I will send you back a registration code.
