Help - Advertisement Block

Sam,

I've read the "how to" on making the Advertisement Block. I'm not very good with java script, but can the same principle be used just to add additional images as well? I have 2 images I would like to use (image1.jpg & image2.jpg)to add below the copywrite notice on the left side.

I would use the option on the "site setup", but I run out of available characters.

Thanks, JIM

RE: Help - Advertisement Block

Jim:

To add the two images to the left side, just add the following code into the "Site Setup - Left Frame Page / Area" dialog box in the "Additional Code" section.

<img width=100 src="../images/image1.jpg" border=1><br><br><img width=100 src="../images/image2.jpg" border=1>

If you are running out of room in the "Additional Code" section because of the current "Add to Favorites" code, then add the images code to the site using the JavaScript method.

Create a ad1.js file with the code contents below:

document.write('<br><br><img width=100 src="../images/image1.jpg" border=1><br><br><img width=100 src="../images/image2.jpg" border=1>');

Next, Add the following line of code to the "Site Setup - Left Frame Page / Area" dialog box in the "Additional Code" section after the "Add to Favorites" code.

<script language="JavaScript" src="ad1.js"></script>

It should look something like this:

<a href="javascript:window.external.AddFavorite('http://www.xlecom.com', 'XLEcom Ecommerce Web Site Creator Program')"><font color="#ffffff">Add XLEcom's Web Site to your Favorites</font></a><script language="JavaScript" src="ad1.js"></script>

Place this ad1.js file into the XLEcom's Assets/html folder. The default installation full path location is C:\Program Files\XLEcom\Assets\html.

When you Publish your web site, check the box labeled "Copy all files from the Assets/html folder (*.*) to the Publish folder" within Publish dialog box.

See the How to Create an Advertisement Block topic for more information if needed.

Hope this helps you,

RE: Help Advertisement Block

Thanks for the quick responce and the great help on this. I knew it could be done, but the key for me is putting a copy of ad1.js in the root for the website.

THANKS!!
